Friday Day Poetry Hour

Ok so its raining out side and its Friday and I am board. How could one be board with a day off one may ask? well A) its raining B) I think i am so busy so much that I have a hard time relaxing these days. Just taking time out to do nothing. I need to practice on this more.

anyways its a good time to write and so i wrote this. Not sure if its a poem or not. One thing i liked about it is i focused on the colors part of the feelings. I know my writings suck so if anyone wants to help me spell check let me know hehe

=============COLORS OF A NIGHT =============

Green and Yellow is what you see, flickering candles light the club.
I can love, but I am scared to be loved back
Slow sounds of jazz in the distance.
There is a show tonight a performance of life.
Sitting there watching, in the distance, with smirks on there faces.
Actors in the movie called life. Pretending like nothing matters.

Red and white is the flavor of the night. Oh how it wets your palettes of desire.
The Jazz get louder. You pour some more wine.
You grab your wine with your red lips tasting it down, pushing it deeper into you, knowing it will change how you think and and feel.

Black and White is the talk of politics that no one really wants to share.
We all pretend our souls are immortal but we know deep inside they grow tired with age.
What is right for someone is not right for others.

Blue and Turquoise is the color of her eyes. You look deep into them but it scares you because you see yourself.

Shades of you are all of the colors you feel inside. Greed, lust, happiness, shame, and honesty, can the human spirit be more beautiful?

MEETinCAFE - Meet with the Architect

Well I had a conference call today with the architect of the new MEETinCAFE we are trying to build. its now one step closer LOL. I really do like the designs. These are very early stages. I am posting a link to the designs they came up with. I really like option 1 personally. But feel free to look over and give me your opinion on what design you like better.

Night of Two B-Days Parties

So two of my friends had b-day parties tonight. Bonnie and Brooke. Both turned 30. One was a chil party in a cool condo party room. Really nice place. The video shows it. The second party was a costume party people got all dressed up like a ball with cool masks and stuff. Good dance vibe.

One cool note on the second party. I love the belly dancer that is a cool party add on. Very neat.

Last night I went to an opening at the Corcoran school of arts. As always these shows are so fun. Everyone was dressed up really nice and the food was amazing. The had this awesome salmon ( not normally a big fan ) a really good apple salad with walnuts and the deserts were to die for. Some kind of whipped cream with peppermint chocolate chip ice cream type thing on it. Yummy it was really good.

The art show its self was very interesting. they had a bunch of artist but below are a couple patings and artist i saw.

American Idol - Photos Fun Times

Another great American idol. basically what we do is re-enact the show the American idol with my friends. its really fun as some people come up with some awesome like costumes or do really wacky things. Just a really fun time. Anyways here are some of the best photos of the night for sure.

Just Another Manic Friday - ooo ooo

Ok I am loving my Fridays off so who am i to complain. Got up this morning to get some breakfast at I-Hop. Its unreal how much breakfast you can get for $4.99. Then watch sicko with a friend of mine. Wow what a movie. Very good if you have not seen it check it out.

I did get a chance to take some awesome photos of the frost this morning. I really like the first one allot.

Updated: Feb 20th - I gave the reporter some names of other meetin people in different cities to interview. Not sure how many people he will call but that will be kind of cool if some other cities can get there city in the press some.

6th Annual MEETinDC Chili Cook Off

So this Saturday i did my 6th annual MiDC chili cook off. This is where I get the best chili makers in MEETinDC over to my house and a number of them make chili to compete for the best chili in dc. As always i slip 2 fake chilis in so i can test out everyones chili tasting ability. The second year in a row the fake chilis lost out pretty bad so a good sign we have some good chili tasters.

Thanks for the extra chili i have now been eating chili 3 days in a row and boy is it good. You all make some means ass chili :-)

Time To SKI WEEEEEEE

Me and my girl Steph do this ski trip once a year. Just a little day trip but man its always oh so fun. We had a blast but thinking next year we may try to ski some where else change it up some maybe do an over night trip. Lots of great skiers also but I was most impressed with how fare along Char has come. its one of the things i admire about this girl. She grew up in a crappy neighborhood much like my self had so many things stacked against her and she beat the hell out of all of the odds. And anything she decides she wants to do she gets out and does it. got to love people like this. I call them learners they go out and learn anything. its awesome. But ya it was a great trip. So so fun to hang out on the sloops with your friends kicking it snow style.

PS not sure why but we all kept singin that "I am a Barbie girl living in a Barbie world" song. Last year it was Song 2 hehe WOOO HOOOOO

Saturday Night's for Parties - Yvonne House Party

So Saturday night I hit up my good friend Yvonne's House party. it was allot of fun about 90 peeps or so on the evite looked to be a pretty full house. It was an interesting because my girl is really into rock climbing and Salsa dancing so there were lots of people from both sides of the world. The thing I really liked about it was I did not know barley any one there. I like some times to just go to a party where I do not know anyone. Kind of gets you out of your element and forces you to meet new people. I met some very cool and interesting people. I even met this one girl who invited me to this other party she was going too but I had to call it a night as I was going skiing the next day.

I mean do not get me wrong i drove in with my boy Jay and I ran into Dave C and Jason there but they both know how I am sooner or latter I am going to go out and mingle with people. I think they also like to do this. Its fun to just meet new people.

The funny thing is this Sat DC had about 4 parties I knew about. I would have hit up more but the ski thing was something i have been waiting for all year to do. Plus I wanted to stay in Va. Thanks for the party Yvonne this was a great time.
